Penfriends in the Gambia!

The Gambia is the smallest country in Africa, but where people seem to have the kindest hearts. Since 2022 we have been writing to our friends in Sanyang Lower Basic School. It has been such a huge pleasure to share experiences with them, and make such good friends. 

Their first language is English, so our students have been able to converse. We regularly write letters, and send them via email. Many teachers are now involved in this project. 

Last year 2024 our 4ème EURO students organized a fun run to help pay for school meals. It was a great project, which brought a lot to us all!

 

 

Lamin Balajoh, deputy head and contact in the school, had a nasty accident last summer. In our school Mme Carron baked cookies with the SEGPA children, and raised a lot of money to help Lamin!
